Sustainable initiatives improve community amenity, thermal mass, acoustics and energy efficiency

Leicester St is a contemporary 10 storey commercial building that has achieved a far smaller environmental footprint than comparable office buildings. With access to the site incredibly tight, the unique composite panel clad eleptical windows had to be prefabricated offsite while construction was underway and installed with minimal finishing on site, resulting in cost and time savings for the client

  • Daylight introduced through light well from level three upwards. Louvres control daylight penetration and shading while high performance glazing reduces energy for heating / cooling
  • Innovative lighting control system and dimmer system, low energy fluorescent lighting keeping power supply less than 2W/M2/100 lux
  • Some natural ventilation via efficient design of windows
  • Low VOC (volatile organic compound) content carpets, paints
  • All insulation has a zero global warming potential specification.
